Just steps from our door you'll find nearly a dozen cafes and restaurants, the beautiful Riverside Park and alpine trail, historic Randolph College, and more. In addition, we are close to Highway 29, just two miles from the bustling downtown, and minutes from the largest employers in Lynchburg including CentraHealth.

Location! We're squeezed right in the heart of Lynchburg's coolest neighborhood. Rivermont is a prime place for strolling down streets lined with cherry trees and beautiful, historic homes. And if you fancy seeing more, we can point you in the right direction!

About the House

2123 Rivermont was first constructed in 1906 as the family home of Mr. and Mrs. Garland Vaughan. In 1913, significant additions were made to the home, including sun rooms on both floors and a carriage house for the horse and buggy. For many years the home was single family until after World War II and a downturn in the Lynchburg economy. The home was sectioned into eight apartments, each approximately 900-1000 square feet in size. Over the decades, 2123 Rivermont and many of the large homes in the Rivermont neighborhood fell into a state of disrepair. 

Thankfully, the city of Lynchburg did not let this home and many of the other stately, historic homes in the Rivermont neighborhood fall by the wayside. A city-wide restoration initiative was introduced in 2010 that brought many of these spectacular  homes back to vibrant life. Among them was 2123 Rivermont, which was lovingly restored in 2014 by Red Sayles and Vintage Flats. Their year long restoration of the 2123 Rivermont and its apartments earned the property a coveted historic preservation award.

The restoration of 2123 Rivermont, like so many others along beautiful Rivermont Avenue, has helped breathe new life into the community, which is why we were excited to become a part of it by purchasing the property in 2021. Today, Rivermont is a blossoming community that boasts dozens of meticulously restored apartments and homes, a plethora of new restaurants and cafes, and a vibrance that is attracting more and more new neighbors each year. We are proud to work and live in the Rivermont community, and we are certain that you'll love it, too. We hope you'll join us at 2123 Rivermont!

The Outdoor Space

We are firm believers in the need for everyone to get outside and enjoy the fresh air of nature, which is why we undertook a comprehensive and ongoing overhaul of the yard. We are avid gardeners and landscapers, so there is always something new to see with each season.

We've designed the outdoor space to feel like a tranquil relief from the stresses of everyday life by adding a number of seating areas and patios, front porch rocking chairs and loungers, an outdoor fire pit with Solo Stove, a meditation area, frisbee golf practice basket, and more. Whether you take full advantage of the yard by sunbathing with a good book, or just to give your pet some business time, we want you to enjoy it. Oh, and one more thing...the sunsets are INCREDIBLE.

Additionally, 2123 Rivermont is located just steps from the lovely Riverside Park and its alpine trail, as well as several restaurants, cafes, and the Randolph College campus which was voted one of the best Green Campuses in the country.

We are a a team of two, Bonnie and Brett, who share a love for the outdoors, old homes, design, and hospitality.

Who We Are

Prior to 2123 Rivermont, Bonnie was a surgical resource nurse for Centra Health, here in Lynchburg Virginia. She is the proud mother of three great kids.

Brett worked for Holland America Cruise Line as a travel guide where he learned the secrets of good hospitality. He is an avid enthusiast of yard and garden design and his wishes that his cat, the polydactyl Oliver Hardy, was more of a lap cat.
